<p>That&#8217;s the core of BVLOS drone connectivity: a channel that holds up for the whole mission, from takeoff to landing, or one that repairs itself when it breaks.</p>
<h2>The coverage problem</h2>
<p>4G/LTE covers cities well. Mountains, coastlines, quarries, remote job sites, rural areas: not so much.</p>
<p>Think of an inspection along a power line in the mountains, or a check of a stretch of coast far from the nearest town. Those are exactly the places where BVLOS flights make the most economic sense, because sending a pilot there in person costs time and budget. They&#8217;re also the places where cellular signal comes and goes, or doesn&#8217;t show up at all.</p>
<p>A single communication channel, however good, doesn&#8217;t hold up for a critical mission in those conditions. If cellular drops mid-flight and there&#8217;s no backup, the drone stops sending data and commands. The pilot loses control, or loses it for long enough that the mission has to stop.</p>
<p>On an infrastructure inspection, that means a wasted flight and a technician driving back out to the site. On a search and rescue operation, those lost minutes cost a lot more.</p>
<h2>Building reliable BVLOS drone connectivity</h2>
<p>The answer is redundancy: multiple channels working together, so if one drops, another takes over without grounding the flight.</p>

<p>Rome, Italy – ADPM Drones is pleased to announce its role as a technology provider in a pioneering project dedicated to biodiversity monitoring in the Sirente Velino Regional Natural Park, in collaboration with the National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC). This project, part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and funded by the European Union, aims to introduce and develop new methodologies for environmental preservation through the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS).</p>
<p>The project includes the development of an advanced management platform for remote drone control, integrated with other IoT technologies capable of acquiring highly precise georeferenced data. This system will allow for efficient and sustainable data collection to monitor the natural habitat and local species, including key conservation priorities such as the Apennine chamois and deer.</p>
